RIT Dubai graduates 250 students in undergraduate and master’s programs

Under the patronage and presence of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Integrated Economic Zones Authority (DIEZ), RIT Dubai, headquartered in Dubai Silicon Oasis, celebrated the graduation of 250 bachelor’s and master’s programs for the academic year 2022-2023, including the first batch of graduates of the Master of Professional Studies in Future Foresight and Planning.

Universities are economic and creative zones

His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Integrated Economic Zones Authority (DIEZ), said: “The future is for technology-driven jobs, innovation and solutions to make the most of information and data. Dubai, as a destination for digital economy investments and a global model for economic zones, has set a precedent at the regional level by transforming universities into integrated economic and creative zones in accordance with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, may God protect him, as stipulated in the sixth item in the fifty-year document announced by His Highness and through which he directed the transformation of national and private universities into free economic and creative zones.”

His Highness praised the graduates, congratulating them and their families on what they have achieved, noting that investing in human capital, talent and competencies is a continuous path and a steady investment for Dubai in order to continue its leadership in the indicators of innovation and excellence and the future economy based on knowledge, innovation and technology.

His Excellency Abdulrahman Saleh Al Saleh, Chairman of RIT Dubai, affirmed RWT’s commitment to building minds, refining skills and raising the competitiveness of labor markets with the efficiency of RIT graduates.

His Excellency said: “We are proud of what represents the scientific outcome of all the university’s programs, especially the professional studies program in future foresight and planning, which is an important tributary to the labor market in the next phase within the vital sectors. We emphasize the university’s role in graduating generations of scientific competencies capable of playing influential roles in advancing development efforts in the UAE or globally, thus consolidating Dubai’s position as an exporter platform for creative talents and high competencies.”

Efficiencies attract investments

His Excellency Dr. Mohammed Al Zarooni, CEO of Dubai Integrated Economic Zones Authority (DIEZ), said: “Advanced academic education and quality practical experience in a university environment that supports research, development and innovation is the ideal equation for graduating young talents capable of leading the sectors of the future and achieving comprehensive economic and social development. Having this type of talent locally enhances the attraction of direct investments to the integrated economic zones of Dubai and the emirate in general, and strengthens its position as a preferred international destination for educational and knowledge attainment, living, working, innovation and creativity.”

Al Zarooni stressed that Dubai’s knowledge-based, innovation and technology-based economy has over the past decades achieved regional and international leadership in many fields and made it a globally preferred environment for doing business.

World-class academic education in Dubai

For his part, Dr. James Myers, Assistant Vice Dean for International Education and Global Programs at the university, who witnessed the presentation of academic certificates issued by the university’s headquarters in New York, USA, to graduates, stressed that they contribute to providing world-class academic education outcomes in Dubai, considering that their impact will be tangible in the various sectors in which they will choose to work and innovate.

Myers said: “RIT is keen to develop quality academic programs that meet the aspirations of our students, enable them to pursue their passions and open up career prospects in various fields and disciplines due to the comprehensive skill package that qualifies them. Located in Dubai Silicon Oasis, the knowledge and innovation hub of the Dubai Urban Plan 2040, the university’s Dubai campus enables our students to benefit from a practical environment that supports innovation. An active role in development and progress

Dr. Yousef Al Assaf, President of RIT Dubai, said: “Since 2010, RIT has graduated 1725,<> graduates in the bachelor’s and master’s degrees in various vital academic disciplines in the technology, innovation, management and information sectors. Today, we celebrated the graduation of the first batch of students from the Future Foresight and Planning Program, in line with the efforts to consolidate Dubai’s position as a global city for the future and in line with the objectives of the UAE Future Foresight Strategy to build future models for the educational, social, developmental, health and environmental sectors and build national capabilities in the field of future foresight.”

Al Assaf added: “We wish all the best to the graduates of RIT Dubai, hoping that they will play an active role in the sustainable development and progress of Dubai and the UAE.”

Academic Programs

Majors in which undergraduate students graduated included electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, marketing, international management business, finance, computing and information technology, and cybersecurity. The master’s specializations included data analysis, smart cities, future foresight and planning, mechanical engineering, engineering management, electrical engineering, leadership and organizational innovation, and a master’s degree in cybersecurity.
